- Participants are invited to submit abstracts under any of the categories listed.
- All accepted abstracts will be published on the website: http://www.neuro-onkologia.fi/SNOG2009. Abstracts will be selected by the Scientific Committee for oral or poster presentation. Please indicate your preference in the space provided when submitting your abstract.
- The deadline for submission of abstracts is September 9, 2009.
Rules for submission of abstracts to SNOG 2009 Meeting
Guidelines for submission of abstracts
Before you begin, please prepare the following information:
- Author or authors' names: family name, first name (e.g. Smith John).
- Presenting author's contact details; include full mailing address, office hours phone number, email address and fax number
- Presentation type preference (poster presentation / oral presentation)
- Affiliation details of all authors: Department; Institution / Hospital; City; Country
- Abstract title – limited to 25 words
- Abstract topic - select the category:
1. Angiogenesis in brain tumours - therapeutic use, mechanisms etc.
2. Innovative therapies for brain tumours
3. Molecular biology and stem cells of brain tumours
4. Prognostic, predictive and diagnostic markers of brain tumours
- Abstracts should be as informative as possible and in the following format:
-Background and aims
-Methods
-Results
-Conclusions (Avoid evasive statements like "the findings will be discussed".)
Use only standard abbreviations. Place special or unusual abbreviations in brackets after the full word the first time it appears.
Use generic names of drugs. Express numbers as numerals
We recommend using word-processing software (for example Word) for editing your abstract and counting the number of words. Typing your text directly into the field is not recommended because:
a: You will not be able to see the abstract after pressing the Submit button
b: You will not receive a copy
- Abstract text (Word file, font: Arial 12)
– limited to 350 words including acknowledgements (fewer if a figure is included in the abstract).
A maximum of 3 graphs/images are allowed per abstract and each image will count as 50 words towards the total word count. There is a maximum of 3 tables allowed per abstract. Each table should be less than 10 rows x 10 columns. Each row of the table will be counted as 10 words against your 350 words total.
- Young scientists (< 30 years) are encouraged to present their work. Scientific Committee will choose the best presentations and three awards are granted.
